The hand spinning of threads as the staffs and weavers prepare to weave yet another magical pattern....

The number of items showcased here are actually woven in the Handloom Centre-Jowai. These include the items mentioned in the Item details Link above.

As a matter of fact, most of these items are sold in all departmental centers at minimal prices. The need to train more weavers is important from the point of view that a lot of the weaving activities are seeing a set-back in most urban and rural areas of the State on the whole. Where jobs are a scarcity, this could well grow up to be yet another bread earning source for most men and women.
